Bioinformatics * Metabolomics * Transcriptomics
Bioinformatics has become an integral part of the "omics" disciplines. The field is advancing rapidly, offering new opportunities for discovery and innovation. If you are interested in learning about the latest developments in this exciting field in Austria, we invite you to attend the Data 4 Omics Symposium.
The one-day event in the new rooms of the University of Applied Sciences in the "House of Digitization" in Tulln offered bioinformaticians and scientists from related omics disciplines, especially metabolomics and transcriptomics, a platform to share their results, exchange ideas and network with others in the field.
Dr. Ulrik Sundekilde, Assoc. Prof. at Aarhus University in Denmark and Lecturer in the Bio Data Science program about the event: "We work with different materials but with the same analytical techniques so we can use the same bioinformatics tools in innovative ways to draw out the essence of the data we have available - and we can learn from each other!"
"The meeting was an excellent opportunity to get an overview of the latest developments in the analysis of OMICS data and to discuss potential collaborations - thank you very much for the organization and the invitation!" Dr. Gerhard Thallinger, Institute of Biomedical Informatics, TU Graz.
The poster award was given to Dr. Maria Doppler, graduate of the Tulln Master "Biotechnical Methods", and Post Doc at the Institute of Bioanalytics and Agro- Metabolomics (IFA-Tulln) for her contribution entitled "Untargeted Metabolomics: how to tackle the challenge".

Welcome to the Data 4 Omics Symposium! This one day event is being held in the recently opened House of Digitalization at the Campus Technopol Tulln. The symposium forms an integral part of the interdisciplinary Omics 4.0 research project, which is funded by the state of Lower Austria.
Without bioinformatics and data science, the rapid advancement of the Omics disciplines would not have been possible. Not only do biologists and analysts rely on the support of bioinformaticians in the form of new software and evaluation methods, but more importantly, good communication between bioinformaticians and scientists from related disciplines is key to successful data interpretation.
The Data 4 Omics Symposium serves exactly this purpose. It offers a platform for bioinformaticians and scientists from related Omics disciplines, especially metabolomics and transcriptomics, to share their findings, exchange ideas and network with others in the field. Join us for an engaging and informative experience.

The program will be structured into three oral and one poster sessions. Each of the oral sessions will be started with an invited keynote lecture dealing with methodical aspects of metabolomics, transcriptomics and chemometric data evaluation. In these symposium topics, participants are invited to communicate their research and findings through oral or poster presentations. All abstracts submitted for consideration will undergo a review process by the scientific committee.
A poster prize will be awarded to the top poster presentation at the symposium. The winning poster will be voted by all participants. This is a great opportunity, especially for young scientists to showcase their work and receive recognition for their efforts.
The final program of the Symposium is as follows:
